Liesbeth de Block is a Research Officer in CSCYM and a lecturer on the MA Media, Culture and Communications. Her research interests are in the interrelation between media, migration, globalization, children, and education. She has worked in primary, secondary, adult education and teacher training in the UK and abroad and has spent time making international documentaries. She has coordinated two cross national research projects funded by the European Community: CHICAM: Children in Communication about Migration (2001-2004) (www.chicam.net) and CIVICWEB: civic participation, youth and the internet (2004-ongoing) (www.civicweb.eu).
